TWEET YOU! Awkward Twitter Dates and Sunday Hangovers

This sampling of work is from two distinct series that co habitat the same themes. Namely technology and how its impact human interaction.

The Awkward Twitter Dates and Sunday Hangovers series (A.T.D.S.H.) are a group of pieces that were influenced by experiences I’d heard about from friends, who for better or worse had gone ( or attempted to go) on Tinder dates. For those who don't know Tinder; it’s an online dating service sort of like Okcupid or match.com.  Most of these sites are pretty much the same but with different window dressing. It's like the 21 century version of the old lonely heart adds. Poor souls casting nets out looking for a connection (even if it’s for just a night).
Tinder, from their experiences seems to attract a different breed of folks. It’s like the worst case scenario of online dating.  Stand ups, fake profiles, super out of date profile pics, dash and run drinkers, dick pics galore, you name it and it will have it in spades. My friend’s horrible experience made for good artist fodder.  All of these works were done on found cardboard sheets and painted in acrylics.

The TWEET YOU! Works explore some of the same social networking themes developed from the Awkward Tinder dates and Sunday Hangovers series.
Specifically texting and smart phones this time. How that technology has changed the way we communicate and socially interact.   By using universally recognized Emoji with a limited color palate I attempted to highlight some of the best and the worst of texting culture through visual representation.
